We use cookies on the Uhlmann website to enhance visits to our webpages and enable the use of certain functions. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer. Among other things, they enable Uhlmann to store user settings. Some of the cookies we use are deleted at the end of the browser session, i.e., when the web browser is closed. These are known as session cookies. Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us, or our partner companies, to identify your browser when you revisit our website. These are known as persistent cookies.

You can configure your browser settings to alert you when cookies are placed. This gives you the opportunity to decide individually whether to accept them, whether cookies are accepted in certain cases, or blocked in general. Furthermore, cookies can be deleted afterwards to remove data stored on your computer by the webpages. Instructions for this are easily found on the Internet. Please be aware that the refusal to accept cookies, or their deactivation, can restrict the functionality of the Uhlmann website.

Nr. 3 Privacy Policy for the Use of Google Analytics

Please find below the Google privacy policy concerning the use of the Google Analytics web analysis tool:
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. Provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses Cookies, small text files which are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies on your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website in order to compile reports on the website activities for the website operators, and to provide further services related to the website and Internet usage. Google also transfers this data to third parties if necessary, if this is required by law, or insofar as third parties have been commissioned by Google to process this data.

Prevent the Storage of Cookies

You can prevent the storage of cookies by using the appropriate software setting on your browser. However, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of this website. By using this website, you express your consent to the processing of data related to you and collected by Google in the manner described above, and for the purpose mentioned above

Objection to the Collection of Data

If you do not want Google to receive data from your browser when you visit the webpages, the following link takes you to the opt-out option for Google Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. This plug-in prevents the browser from requesting the analytics code so no data is received by Google when the website is visited. The plug-in is only available for Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Firefox 3.x, as well as Chrome. According to Google, the browser blocks the Google Analytics script after installation. More information on the terms of use and privacy policy is to be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.

Demographic Factors Google Analytics

This website makes use of the Google Analytics function Demographics and Interests. This enables the generation of reports providing information about the age, gender, and interests of the website visitors. This data is generated from interest-based Google advertising as well as user data from third-party providers. This data cannot be related to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at all times via the display settings in your Google account or generally disallow the collection of your data by Google Analytics as outlined under the heading Objection to data collection.

a. Use of Google Remarketing

This website makes use of Google remarketing technology from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA: Google). This is a retargeting technology that enables us to again address website visitors through target-oriented advertising on the websites of the Google advertising network. Use is made of cookies to place the advertisements.

Cookies are placed on your computer for this purpose, with the help of which third-party providers, including Google, record which of our webpages have been visited using your browser. On the basis of this information, our advertisements can be presented to you at a later date on other websites, e.g., in the course of a Google search, or on websites of the Google network. You will find further information on the privacy policy of Google and the operating principle of remarketing at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/. Here you can also deactivate the storage of cookies through your browser settings and/or object to the collection of data in the context of Google remarketing: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

b. Use of Google AdWords

We make use of Google conversion tracking, an analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA: Google) on our website. In this context, Google AdWords places a cookie (conversion cookie) on your computer if you are led to our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and do not serve personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we, and Google, can see that someone has clicked on the ad and thus been forwarded to our website. Every AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the webpages of AdWords customers. The information collected by means of the conversion cookies helps to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The AdWords customers learn the overall number of users who have clicked on their ad and were forwarded to a page marked with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which they can personally identify users.

Should you not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by preventing the installation of cookies through the appropriate software setting on your browser (deactivation option). Then you will not be recorded in the conversion tracking statistics. More information on the terms of use and privacy policy is to be found at: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

c. Use of Google Maps

We make use of Google Maps to display maps and create route maps with instructions on how to find us. Google Maps is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. By using this website, you give your consent to the collection, processing, and use of data, which is automatically collected or submitted by you, by Google, one of its representatives, or third-party providers. The terms of use for Google Maps are to be found at https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.

The Google Safety Center gives you detailed information. Transparency and choice as well as the privacy policy are to be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de.

Nr. 4 Subscription to our Newsletter

You have the possibility of subscribing to our company newsletter on our website. We inform our customers and business partners this way at regular intervals about offers of the company. Therefore we require a valid e-mail address from you as well as information which allows us to verify that you are the holder of the given e-mail account and agree to receipt of the newsletter. Further data is not collected, or only on a voluntary basis. For legal reasons, a confirmation mail using the closed-loop authentication mechanism is sent to the e-mail address initially received from a party concerned registering for receipt of the newsletter. We use this data solely for distribution of the newsletter and do not pass it on to third parties. Article 6, § 1 GDPR forms the legal basis for the collection and processing of the data.

When registering for the newsletter, we also save the IP address of the computer system, assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP), and used by the party concerned at the time of registration, as well as the date and the time of the registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to retrace at a later date the (possible) misuse of the e-mail address of a party concerned and therefore serves as a safeguard for us.

You can revoke at all times the given consent to storage of the data and the e-mail address, and to its use for distribution of the newsletter, by using, for example, the unsubscribe link found in each newsletter. Alternatively, you are welcome to send at any time an e-mail with your unsubscribe request to datenschutz(at)uhlmann-group.com. The legality of data processing carried out prior to being revoked remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data submitted by you for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored by us until your name is removed from the newsletter distribution list. It is deleted once you have unsubscribed the newsletter.

a. Newsletter-Tracking

The newsletter contains tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic, embedded in such e-mails that are sent in HTML format, which enables a log-file recording and a log-file analysis. This means that a statistical evaluation of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns can be carried out. On the basis of the embedded tracking pixel, we are able to recognize whether and when an e-mail has been opened by a party concerned, and which links found in the e-mail are visited by the party concerned.

Such personal data collected via the tracking pixels in the newsletters is stored and evaluated by us on the grounds of a legitimate interest to optimize the newsletter distribution and to adapt the content of future newsletters to better suit the interests of the party concerned. Article 6, § 1 GDPR forms the legal basis. This personal data is not passed on to third parties. The parties concerned are entitled at all times to revoke the separate declaration of consent regarding this, which was submitted using the closed-loop authentication mechanism. Following revocation, the party responsible for the processing will delete this personal data. A cancelling of receipt of the newsletter is automatically interpreted as a revocation.

Nr. 5 Careers Section/Online Application

On our website you have the possibility to use the careers section and/or submit job applications per e-mail. The personal data (master data, contact data, documents such as cover letter, CV, references, etc.) of applicants is collected and processed for the purpose of processing the application procedure. The processing can also be carried out electronically. This is particularly the case when an applicant transmits relevant application documents, via e-mail or a web form on the website, for example, to the party responsible for the processing. If the party responsible for the processing concludes an employment contract with an applicant, the submitted data is stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the legal provisions. If the party responsible for the processing does not conclude an employment contract with the applicant, the application documents are automatically deleted six months after notification of being turned down as long as no other legitimate interests of the party responsible for the processing impede a deletion. An example of other legitimate interests in this sense is a burden of proof in a process under the General Equal Treatment Act. Article 6, § 1 GDPR forms the legal basis for the collection and processing of the data.

Nr. 6 Social Media

Links to social media platforms can be used on our website. A connection to the respective server of the social media platform is made when visiting one of these sites. In the process, this social media platform is informed that you have visited our website with your IP address. Should you then “like” something, etc. and be logged into your respective account, it may then be possible for the social medium to relate your visit to our homepage to you and your user account. These services are performed by the following companies:
