Why Digitalization Matters to Us

Digitalization creates new opportunities: By connecting data across the value chain, it enables faster, more efficient and more precise processes. This strengthens the competitiveness of our customers and supports the long‑term development of the Uhlmann Group.

More Than TechnologyDigitalization extends beyond technology. It reshapes structures and processes, requiring new ways of thinking and capabilities. The Uhlmann Group is therefore undergoing a comprehensive transformation to realize the full potential of digitalization.

Opportunities in FocusIn addition to increased productivity, new services such as remote services are gaining in importance. At the same time, digitalization requires a responsible approach to issues such as cybersecurity, data quality, and the effort involved in complex measures.

Holistic TransformationOur work reflects all these aspects. We use digitalization as a key driver in shaping the global packaging ecosystem of tomorrow – and we bring our “Beyond Packaging” ambition to life by thinking well beyond the machine itself.

The dual transformation – the simultaneous shift toward a more digital and more sustainable economy – is fundamentally reshaping our industry. By using digitalization to advance sustainability, we strengthen the long‑term resilience of the Uhlmann Group, and we open up new opportunities for our customers.

How We Advance Digitalization

Digitalization can only succeed when technology, structures, and people work together. That is why we take a 360° approach far beyond individual tools or features.

Strategic FrameworkThe Uhlmann Group Holding provides a clear framework for this: a group-wide IT strategy, key central functions and governance structures, and a group-wide AI ambition until 2030. Building on this foundation, the Group Companies implement their own digitalization initiatives and portfolio strategies, driving targeted and practical digitalization across the organization.

Focus on Customer ValueSystematic digitalization within the Group Companies always focuses on tangible customer value. It also enables fast processes with high levels of quality and efficiency. This results in digitalized solutions that integrate seamlessly into our customers’ production and system environments and create measurable added value.

Innovations With a Partner EcosystemOur digital innovations are the result of collaboration between our practice-oriented Future Lab, close cooperation with universities and industry partners, and research projects such as Factory‑X. We are already working as a strong network on the key issues of the future and actively driving forward the transformation of the packaging industry.
