  3. A strong commitment to climate protection: Uhlmann Group joins the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance

Laupheim, April 15, 2025. The Uhlmann Group has become a member of the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance. With this move, the Group underscores its commitment to sustainable business practices and climate protection. On April 9, 2025, State Secretary Dr. Andre Baumann ceremoniously presented the membership certificate to Carolyn Leung, Corporate Sustainability Lead of the Uhlmann Group, during the Alliance’s Climate Evening.

The Uhlmann Group is committed to ensuring the global availability of sensitive products to improve the quality of life for generations to come. It comprises the six group companies Uhlmann Pac-Systeme, KOCH Pac-Systeme, and Goldfuß Engineering in Germany, as well as Cremer Speciaalmachines in the Netherlands, Wonder Packing Machinery in China, and Axito in Poland.

“Climate protection is a global, societal challenge that also has significant economic implications, and one that can only be addressed through diverse, coordinated efforts within our own company. After all, every concrete measure taken on the ground reduces CO2 emissions, whether it involves the use of green electricity or energy-efficient machinery at our customers’ sites worldwide. The Uhlmann Group’s accession to the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance is therefore only logical for us. We have our roots in the region, and here too we are actively taking responsibility. This includes sustainable business practices and the achievement of ambitious climate protection goals,” says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Niemeyer, Chief Executive Officer of the Uhlmann Group.

The Uhlmann Group has already set itself ambitious climate targets: By 2030, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are to be reduced by 42.3% and Scope 3 emissions by 27.5%. The baseline for each is the status in the 2019/2020 fiscal year. By signing the climate protection agreement, the Group commits to actively contributing to the achievement of the state’s climate protection goals.

By joining the state’s Climate Alliance, the group becomes part of a network of companies and organizations that have long been actively committed to climate and environmental protection. The Uhlmann Group benefits from intensive exchange with other committed companies and from collaboration in developing innovative solutions for a climate-friendly economy. The goal of the Climate Alliance is to facilitate this valuable knowledge transfer and networking opportunities in order to effectively implement measures to reduce CO2 emissions.
