  3. Uhlmann Group Acquires Goldfuß Engineering GmbH

Laupheim, January 21, 2025. On January 17, 2025, the Uhlmann Group acquired Goldfuß Engineering GmbH, a highly successful robotics and automation company based in Balingen. This acquisition adds another key component to the international group’s portfolio. With its investment in Goldfuß, the Uhlmann Group is driving its growth, expanding its role as an innovation and market leader for comprehensive packaging solutions, and thereby ensuring the global availability of sensitive products.

Goldfuß Engineering develops, designs, and manufactures cutting-edge systems in the fields of packaging technology, laboratory automation, and custom machine building for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and crop science industries. With robotics and automation, Goldfuß occupies two future-oriented fields that are in high demand among the Uhlmann Group’s customer base. They help address pressing challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers as well as cost and efficiency pressures. “With its innovative, comprehensive solutions for peripheral automation, Goldfuß perfectly complements our offering, for example in the automatic feeding of folding cartons, booklets, etc. We look forward to building a shared future based on the experience gained from a long-standing, fruitful collaboration,” explains Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Niemeyer, CEO of the Uhlmann Group.

For Goldfuß, with its decades of experience, the acquisition represents a forward-looking and growth-oriented step, as former owner Thomas Goldfuß explains: “I deliberately chose the Uhlmann Group because, as a family-owned business, it shares the right values, believes in Goldfuß’s continued success, and is investing in its future. I am therefore firmly convinced that Goldfuß and the Uhlmann Group are a very good fit.”

Karl Geiger, who was previously the managing director at Goldfuß, will take over the management of the new and independent group company. “The companies of the Uhlmann Group operate in the same markets as we do. This creates synergies that allow us to offer customers comprehensive packaging solutions from a single source,” says Karl Geiger.
